DO“In-Reach” Initiative • Seek out the assistance of current patients in the recruiting process. • Notify all patients of the process verbally and by posted signs. • Develop processes to accurately log the number of new patients referred by current patients and which patients had made the referrals. • Institute a patient reward system.

  5. STUDY • Comparison of the number of patients admitted between January and May of 2010 to the same period in 2008 and 2009.

  6. ACT • Expand “in-reach” by educating all staff and patients on the “in-reach” concept and process. • Introduce “in-reach” to new patients as part of new patient orientation.

  7. IMPACT • Increased in admissions by 40% over 2009. • Increased census. • Increased billable weeks, resulting in increased revenue.
