  2. What is DECA DECA is a business and marketing club that aspires students to respond and react to real life situations in the business world. It allows students to become leaders in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. It prepares students for: • interviews • company problems • marketing • frustrated customers • business improvement

  3. Why Join DECA • Networking • Recognition • Resume Building • Scholarships • School Pride • Fun!

  4. What you can do with DECA • DECA is what you make of it! • You will have opportunities to: • Work the school store • Compete at district, state & national levels • Attend field trips • Join in community service projects • Participate in other school wide marketing projects

How to Join? • This year, signing up will take place online: • You can find the link to sign up on our Twitter account (@BayPortDeca) • You will also be able to sign up by going to the Bay Port Deca Weebly website and clicking on the link Bay Port DECA - Home - Weebly • You must pay dues by October 14th • Non-competitor $20 • Competitor $35 (includes fee for districts)

  6. How to participate? • Come to all DECA meetings! • Become a fan of our Facebook page & Follow us on Twitter @BayPortDECA • Most communications will be sent through the bpdeca.weebly, Twitter, and Facebook

Non-Competitor vs. Competitor Non-competitor • Work the school store(5 shifts first semester) • Go on field trips • Participate in marketing projects • Participate in two DECA activities Competitors • Same as non-competitors PLUS • Compete at Districts, State, and Nationals • Pick a category • Show your knowledge • Do a role play
