  1. UNDERSTANDING THE SYSTEMof ZAKAT

  2. Do you see any difference in the two ways of praying? Obviously in one image the brother is praying individually and in the other image Muslims are offering Salat in congregation and collectively at the masjid.

  3. Can Zakat be an individual deed? NO!

  4. SURA TAUBA AYAT # 103 and AYAT # 60

  5. Narrated by Abu Huraira (r.a) in Sahih Bukhari When Allah's Apostle died and Abu Bakr became the Caliph some Arabs turned renegade (reverted to disbelief) (Abu Bakr decided to declare war against them), 'Umar, said to Abu Bakr, "How can you fight with these people although Allah's Apostle said, 'I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight the people till they say: "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and whoever said it then he will save his life and property from me except on trespassing the law (rights and conditions for which he will be punished justly), and his accounts will be with Allah.' “ Abu Bakr said, "By Allah! I will fight those who differentiate between the prayer and the zakat as zakat is the compulsory right to be taken from the property (according to Allah's orders) By Allah! If they refuse to pay me even a she-kid which they used to pay at the time of Allah's Apostle . I would fight with them for withholding it" Then 'Umar said, "By Allah, it was nothing but Allah opened Abu Bakr's chest towards the decision (to fight) and I came to know that his decision was right.“

  6. The above Quranicaayaat & dialogue from Sahih Bukhari clearly and unambiguously prove that Zakat was collected by the Islamic State and distributed according to the rules and directives in the Quran & Sunnah.

  7. OK agree that ZAKAT is a collective deed (ijtemaee amal) BUT What implication it has on me? Does it mean that I stop giving Zakat to my relatives, near & dear ones ?

  8. To begin with please start giving some part of your Zakat to the organization which is trying to resurrect this ijtemaeenazm (collective system) of Zakat. Your relatives, near & dear ones deserve your sadaqah and charity at regular intervals and not merely Zakat once a year!

  9. Question Can you name at least one organization which is trying to resurrect this ijtemaeenazm (collective system) of Zakat? Answer Jamaat e Islami Hind ---which has Alhamdolillah been doing this job stupendously for the last 70 years. Please visit www.jamaateislamihind.org or contact your local JIH office for more details.

  10. Why are we coming to you for Zakat? It is just the fear of Allah and to seek His Pleasure and escape His Wrath that we do so. We have by the Grace of Allah a system of Zakat that is transparent, systematic, audited and driven towards fulfilling Quranic mission of Zakat which is poverty alleviation and establishing a system of social justice. Having being blessed with such mercy it would be very cruel on our part to keep it all by ourselves and not to spread this message and give an opportunity to the multitudes who want to re-establish the system of Islam by paying their Zakat that goes in all the masaarif (heads) as expounded by Quran and Hadith. This is the sole reason for this presentation and the only motivation for approaching you. May Allah guide us all to the straight path. Amin ! JazakallahKhair.
