  1. Technology Literacy Rules of the Lab are in place for many reasons. Some are for students, some are for the equipment. Rules of the Lab

  2. Look around the lab (with your eyes) to find this poster.

  3. Now find this one….. Hint…. The color of the poster paper is not white!

  4. NO Emailing or IMing: • Check your E-Mail, with teacher permission. • Email may only be used to forward & retrieve school related material. Educational Use Only.

  5. Social Networking & Chat Rooms • Do not log into your accounts for any Social Networking sites or Chat Rooms! • You may NOT use either on school computers or on your smart phones and other devices.

  6. Surfing the Web - Searching • NOsurfing the web freely. • Students must stick to the suggested sites ONLY! • These approved sites are found on Ms. Brown’s Website. http://plouffecomputerlab218.weebly.com/

  7. Music & Lyrics NO Listening to Music or Looking up Lyrics: • If lyrics are required for a school project, see Ms. Brown. • Your teacher must provide Ms. Brown with an email or note which indicates this is a course lesson. • The teacher may also provide you with a syllabus that lists this assignment.

  8. Food or Drink • NO Eating, Drinking or Gum Chewing! • Gum & Candy are chocking hazards*.  *This is why they are not permitted in school.

  9. Printing Services • Color printing is no longer available. • Students must ask to print.

  10. Restroom Use • Sign IN & OUT • One student at a time • Place Passes back in the basket. • Keep Sign In/Out Area neat. • Be courteous of time for others.

  11. Electronic Devices NO Cell Phones! Phones MUST ALWAYS be POWERED off & put away in a bag or LOCKER

  12. Entering the Lab • Quietly • Ready to learn • Prepared with a pen/pencil • Be Seated • NO SEAT SWAPPING • Log on, unless asked not to. • Be KIND to others at ALL times.

  13. Chairs / Seats NO SEAT SWAPPING • No Spinning • Backrest to your BACK • Do not lean on the chair or it will break. Random Act of Kindness Why not practice one today! If you are always lucky to have a computer chair, offer it to a student who gets stuck with the standard student chair!

  14. Exiting the Lab • Save your work • Log off your account • Neaten your area • Check UNDER your desk • Throw away ALL trash • Stand • Push in your chair • Stand behind your chair • Wait to be dismissed by the teacher

  15. Lab Community • Take pride in your community. • Treat the Computers & Chairs with respect. • Do not write on furniture • Do not tear HELP cards. • Clean up after yourself. • Check UNDER your desk for trash.

  16. You & Your Classmates • Listen when required • Follow the rules • Respect yourself – your peers/teachers • Be kind & be thoughtful • Volume is ALWAYS soft, no LOUD voices. • Be responsible • Never talk out-of-turn or over one another. • Never use SHUT-UP in this lab. • Be helpful to one another. • Hands to yourself • Never touch anyone, their belongings or their computer equipment. • If you do not have something nice to say, do not say it.
