Ch’in kept together a huge army to keep kings from revolting against him. And when he felt safe he made the army defend the empire and make it bigger. The danger to china was the people who lived in Mongolia and Siberia who often tried to invade China. A lot of kings in northern China had built walls along their kingdoms to keep away these invaders. So Ch’in ordered his army to join up the walls to make the great wall of China.
