Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR.). Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in the  Hudson Valley  town of  Hyde Park, New York . Roosevelt grew up in a rich family. Roosevelt graduated from Harvard in 1903 with an  A.B.  in history. He later received an honorary  LL.D  from Harvard in 1929.

  2. Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in the Hudson Valley town of Hyde Park, New York. Roosevelt grew up in a rich family. Roosevelt graduated from Harvard in 1903 with an A.B. in history. He later received an honorary LL.D from Harvard in 1929. In August 1921, while the Roosevelts were vacationing at Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, Roosevelt contracted polio, which resulted in permanent paralysis from the waist down.   3. He became the president in the year of 1932, America was in a time of economic depression(經濟蕭條). Facing the challenges, he abandoned the ways of the preceding president letting the economy recover by itself, he carried out new policies having the national government intervening with the recovery of the economy.   4. Another important event that occurred during his event was WWII. In his famous “Fireside Chats”(爐邊談話), Roosevelt called out to help the Allies against the Axis(反法西斯戰爭), to help China fight against Japan’s invasion. After December 7, 1940 Pearl Harbor attack, he declared war against Japan, and started the Proclamation of United Nation(聯合國宣言), becoming one of the leaders of the Allies. Lifetime achievements

  5. President Roosevelt served for four terms, twelve years in total. In 1951, the Constitution of the United States(美國憲法) limited the terms of the president to two terms. In 1945, President Roosevelt passed away due suffering a stroke. He is considered one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. Lifetime achievements

  6. Roosevelt and Eleanor got married, then Roosevelt's mother became a frequent house guest, much to Eleanor's chagrin. Roosevelt was a attractive and handsome man. Besides,he was keen on social activities.In contrast, Eleanor was a shy woman and disliked social life. Roosevelt's extramarital life is very exciting , including one with Eleanor's social secretary, Lucy Mercer.Eleanor found the letters revealing the affair in Roosevelt's luggage when he returned from World War 1,then a love affair has been exposed . Eleanor was unwilling to make any concessions .So Roosevelt promised never to see Lucy again . Marriage and affairs

  7. Roosevelt’s father got some tree seeding from neighbor. He said”who plant the tree seeding grow best then give who buy a nice gift.” Roosevelt also wanted his father’s gift. But when he saw his brother and sister were bounced water flowers, Roosevelt lose his spirits. Because his legs were physically disabled. He only had only water twice,didn’t look over very offen. After a week, Roosevelt went to saw it again.He saw that the tree didn’t witherd,but also grow leaves!It was more green and more angry than others.His father gave him a gift which he like most.Since Roosevelt gradually became optimistic. One night,he lie on the bed. Suddenly remembered his teacher words:plant grow in the night.He got up softly to saw his little tree.But he saw his father used big spoon to spill something.Suddenly, he understand everything. His father always secretly help him plant the tree! Extra story
