  2. thenational emblem of Langepas the flag of Langepas The Langepas town was founded in 1980. The climate of the city is sharp and continental. Winters are cold, summers are moderately warm. Once the absolute minimum of temperature was registered on a mark of -59 °C. The town is surrounded by the taiga rich with different flora and fauna. The native people have always been using natural resources in their economy. In the woods there is a lot of fur animals, such as muskrats, foxes, chipmunks, and also the main symbol of Langepas — squirrels. Also ducks and water snakes may be found on bogs. The fishery is developed as well, with such fish as roaches, ides, perches, crucian carps, pikes, whitefishes. On some waters near the Lokosovo town you may even find white swans.

  3. The symbol of Langepas is a squirrel. The Langepas town is located in the Western Siberia, the autonomous district of Khanty-Mansi. Its name is translated as the «squirrel’s place».

There are in Langepas: • the music school • the school of art • the adult education center «Raduga» • the cultural center«Neftyanik» • the leisure center «Fortuna» The town Langepas is located between two large cities of the autonomous district Khanty-Mansi - Nizhnevartovsk and Surgut. In 1985 Langepas was given the status of the town. It became one of the towns of the Lukoil group. With the population of 41,6 thousand people Langepas makes a nice and comfortable place. It is well accommodated for families with little children as well as for adults.

  5. There is also the war memorial in our town. In the mid-fifties it became a ritual in our country that the newlyweds are visiting military memorials to lay the flowers there. There are memorial in our town which decorate not only the enterprises but the whole town, such as the Children's park «Begemot». There are ships, tanks and the rocket. These places are very interesting for the visitors of the town Langepas.

  6. In August 2010 it was the 25th anniversary of Langepas. Despite the fact of it’s small territory the town is full of shops and places for leisure. Different shows, concerts and theatres are organized for population.

  7. «Oil drop» «Lotus» The monument «oil drop»symbolizes production of black goldin the Western Siberia as the center of the oil and gas industry. It is the main industry of our district.

  8. There are several schools in Langepas. All of them are very well equipped, high-qualified and give to their pupils the best level of education.The school I go to is No 2. In my view it is the best school in the town.

  9. I think Langepas is one of the best places in world.I am happy to live in this lovely town.
