  3. 1.1Passport All travelers entering Canada require a passport from their home country. If you are already in Canada and need to renew your passport, consult the list of foreign diplomatic representatives in the country: Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada's Close MainMenu

  4. 1.2Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec (CAQ) The CAQ is the first immigration document required and issued by Immigration Quebec and is required to apply for the Study Permit, issued by Immigration Canada. Please note: Students who have been accepted to programs (i.e. students who register for one semester only) that will be completed in less than 6 months have the option of studying without the CAQ and Study Permit.   8. 1.4Health Insurance Card – Confirm your Coverage on Minerva • Your health insurance card is your proof of insurance • while in Canada. It lists your name, ID number, type and • dates of coverage and policy number. • First, you have to confirm your coverage on Minerva, then • you will be able to pick up your card and use it: • At the McGill Health clinic; • At the Payment Express desk to process claims faster • It is important to always carry your Health Insurance card • with you at all times in case of an emergency.   9. 2.1ID Card A McGill ID card is required to access most essential services on campus, including the McGill Libraries and the Instructional Communications Centre and ID Card is mandatory for final examinations.
