  1. How to make an Archimedes Screw

  2. Use a compass to make neat circles. Cereal box card board is perfect for making Archimedes Screws.

  3. Use the compass to draw a circle that is a bit smaller than the diameter of the center support tube.

  4. Cut out the outside circle then cut toward the center to cut out the inner circle. Tape together each ramp after butting up the ends.

  5. Cut the length of the tube so that you are able to collapse it. Insert the tube into the “slinky” of circles.

  6. Stretch out “slinky” so that the ramps are evenly spaced.

  7. Wrap the screw in plastic, paper or insert it into a 2 liter bottle.
