  1. Work Life at UC Davis Integrating Self, Work, Life’s Important Others and Community

  2. UC Davis Work Life A collaboration of programs, resources, policies and practices to support our diverse campus community. Work Life provides referrals, outreach, education and programming that enable employees to meet commitments and pursue interests both in and outside of the workplace.

  3. Self… • Studies show that people who feel good about themselves are confident and better able to take on life’s daily challenges. They are happier, healthier and more productive.

  4. Work… • The UC Davis Vision and Strategic Plan states that we “recruit, develop and retain a distinguished and diverse faculty and staff to increase national and international distinction and leadership in learning, discovery and engagement.”

  5. Life’s Important Others… • Parent’s, partners, children, relatives, friends, neighbors and pets. The needs of life’s important others often require flexibility in our work life and UC Davis is responsive to these demands.

  6. Community… • The UC Davis Vision features three goals: learning, discovery and engagement. One engagement strategy is to “build and enhance enduring relationships…with friends of the campus.” A way to build community is to share individual and collective expertise, time and talents.
