  2. Chlamydia • Bacteria: Trachomatis • Symptoms: Male: inflammation of epididymis and urethra, discharge in morning, burning sensation when you urinate. Female: Inflammation of the vagina and cervix, rare discharge from vagina, but most females have no signs. • Cure: Cotton swab used to collect a discharge. Examined in the lab and treatment is 2 to 3 weeks. • No Treatment: If you don’t get treatment Chlamydia will cause sterility. If passed to a baby it can become blind and get pneumonia • Extra: Half of the women also have Gonorrhea

  3. Gonorrhea • bacteria: Neisseriagonorrhoeae • Symptoms: Male: white discharge, burning urination, most no symptoms. Female: Discharge, burning urination, most have no symptoms • Cure: A shot of Rocephin or medication • No Treatment: You can get joint pains and scaring of the urethra and fallopian tubes (sterilization) • Extra: Half of women have Chlamydia

  4. Nongonococcal Urethritis • Bacteria: Chlamydia Trachomatis • Symptoms: Male: burning sensation during urination, white cloudy discharge. Females have no symptoms but if left in body it may cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. • Cure: Antibiotics for 7 days • No Treatment: Males: infection of the spermatic cord. Female: Pelvic Inflammatory Disease • Extra: To diagnose you take a smear of the urethra under a microscope

  5. Syphilis • Bacteria: TreponemaPallidum • Symptoms: A Chancre is found on the body for 3 to 6 weeks. A month to a yr. later a giant painless rash on back. • Cure: if the disease is early you can get antibiotics. If late infection you get intravenous penicillin for minimum of 10 days. • No Treatment: Blindness, Paralysis, Kidney failure, and death • Extra: You can get a chancre any where on your body from hand to Genitals.

  6. Herpes • Virus: Herpersviridae • Symptoms: out brakes of open soars on mouth, throat, or gentiles • Cure: No cure but treatment to reduce symptoms • No Treatment: brain damage, bipolar disorder, and painful sores • Extra: Herpes can be found in mouth (Herpes 1) and in the gentiles (Herpes 2)

  7. HPV (Gentile Warts) • Virus: human papillomavirus • Symptoms: a painless wart that lets out a discharge. • Cure: no cure but can burn or freeze off warts. They will always come back • No Treatment: Men get larger warts and females can get cervical cancer • Extra: gentile warts can be in or on the anus

  8. Pubic Lice (Crabs) • Bacteria: Pediculosis Pubis • Symptoms: Itching of gentiles, black small dots • Cure: Given special medicated cream or shampoo • No Treatment: They keep itching • Extra: You can get it from sharing clothes or sheets

  9. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease • Bacteria: Chlamydia and Gonorrhea • Symptoms: Painful urination, foul odor, painful intercourse, and irregular menstrual bleeding • Cure: Antibiotics can stop the rest but can’t reverse damage to the reproductive organs • No Treatment: Scaring Fallopian Tubes, permanent damage to reproductive organs • Extra: Difficult to diagnose because symptoms are subtle to mild
