  1. Happy Mother’s DayMay 12, 2014 What the family represents in the Bible

  2. Gen 30:1 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.

  3. The Physical Family is a picture of god’s plan for the church

  4. Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

  5. Eph 5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

  6. Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

  7. Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

  8. Eph 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

  9. Eph 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

  10. Eph 5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

  11. Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

  12. So … How do we apply this to Mother’s day

  13. What if we all said, as Rachel … “Give me children (sons of God) else I die!”What impact would that make on eternity?

  14. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

  15. John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

  16. There are only two types of people in the world…

  17. 1Jn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

  18. The relative question is this: Will you be a part of birthing spiritual life, or not?

  19. So .. In application to Gen 30:1 “Give me children else I die ..” How committed are you to God’s plan as pictured through the marriage relationship?

  20. Application to our Church:Four-Pronged Ministry Initiative focus for the next year..

  21. 1. Youth Warehouse Ministry

  22. 2. Jehovah’s Java coffee Shoppe

  23. 3. Recreation Field(Soccer & T-Ball)

  24. Will we, as a church, choose to become spiritual mother’s and father’s to individuals of Stanly county?

  25. The Physical aspect of “motherhood” is representative of eternal spiritual birthing process

  26. Our Goal:1. Help Mothers be amazing mothers .. And ..2. Help all of us be amazing “brides” of Christ
