Team identity – • Team name – school or sponsor • Team logo – something catchy • Team colors – school colors or loud colors • Mascot – true school mascot or twist on it • Buttons – team number, logo, web site • Web site – so the world can find you • Rookie/ team book – share with everyone • Team t shirts with sponsors on them • Robot Trading Cards

  4. At School, get in front of every person possible • Pep Assemblies • Club rush • School open houses • College nights • Football games - Homecoming • Basketball games • Display at lunches • Contact VP (s) • Principal • Athletic Director • School board meetings

  5. Community Business members • Visit Chamber of Commerce Get emails of members. (Members own local business) • Police Dept – Bomb Squad robots • Fire Dept - Adding robots for service • Fundraising events – HS basketball games • Spaghetti feeds – who doesn’t like spag? • Team dinners – Taco bars

  6. City and Community events • City Council meetings • Concerts in the park • Farmers markets • Antique fairs • Da Vinci days • Local political events

  7. Contact all local media • TV • Radio • Newspapers • Cable access • Get them to visit your team interview your students. Everyone has a story of why they joined and what they hope to get out of FIRST Robotics.

Volunteer opportunities for the team • FLL and FTC teams and events, coach, mentor, general help • Other FRC events – regional, kickoff, FIRSTFare • Robotics camps – O.C., Jesuit, 4H, scouts • Robotics workshops – Superquest, ORTOP • Civil Air patrol demo • Boy Scouts pancake feeds • Parks and Rec – Park clean up

  9. Sponsors and mentors • Business open houses – Autodesk CAAD • Company picnics – Phoenix Gold • Safety fairs - Boeing • Industry meetings – SAO Uncorked • Trade shows – Octoberbest, Design 2 part • Workshops – COSA • Host BBQ for sponsors, mentors and other teams • Mentor other teams

  10. Document EVERYTHING!! • Take pictures of every event • Video all activities • Invite TV stations and newspapers • Post all events on your website • Send out press releases • Create email lists and groups
