TXV berfungsimempertahankantemperatur superheat yang keluardari evaporator. • TXV sangatefektifjikadigunakanpada dry expansion evaporator untukmencegahmasuknyarefrigerancairkekompresor. • Terdapatduatekanansalingberlawanan yang mempengaruhimekanismekerjadari TXV yaitutekanan sensing bulb (Fsb) sertatekanan evaporator (Fe) dantekanan spring (Fs). • Sensing bulb diletakanpadapipa yang keluardari evaporator. • Sensing bulb bisaberisi air raksanamunlebihbaikberisirefrigeran yang samadenganrefrigeran yang diisikanpadamesinpendingintersebut.

  5. Keuntunganmenggunakan TXV diantaranya: • Sangatefektifmengontrolbanyaknyarefrigeran yang dimasukkanke evaporator sesuaibeban evaporator. • Mengurangiresikomasuknyarefrigerancairmasukkekompresor. • Memaksimalkankerja evaporator sehingga evaporator tidakkekuranganrefrigeranketikabebantinggi.

  6. Mekanismekerja TXV padabebanmaksimum Ketikabeban di evaporator maksimummakaterjadipengambilanpanas yang banyakdanterjadibanyakpenguapan di dalam evaporator. Akibatnya, ketikarefrigerankeluardari evaporator temperaturnyasudahnaiksehinggamenaikkan pula superheatnya. Karenatemperatur superheat naik, makarefrigeran yang ada di dalam sensing bulb akanmenguapsehinggatekanan sensing bulb lebihtinggidibandingkantekanan spring yang akanmenekan bellow kebawahsehinggamembuka needle danmembuatrefrigeran yang masukke evaporator semakinbanyak.

  7. Mekanismekerja TXV padabeban minimum Ketikabeban di evaporator minimum, makatidakbanyakterjadipengambilanpanas di dalam evaporator. Akibatnya, ketikarefrigerankeluardari evaporator temperaturnyamasihrendahsehinggamenurunkantemperatursuperheatnya. Karenatemperatur superheat turun, makarefrigeran yang ada di dalam sensing bulb akanmenyusut, akibatnyatekanan sensing bulb lebihkecildaripadatekanan spring yang akanmenekan bellow keatasdan needle akanmenutup yang mengakibatkanrefrigeran yang masukke evaporator semakinsedikit.
