Searching for Jobs JagJobs - online job resources database • www.jagjobs.org • Employer will indicate how to apply – on jagjobs usually they require you to submit a resume and sometimes a cover letter • Employer will indicate whether the position is open to all students or just those who possess work-study funds. • Average pay rate is between $9-$11 per hour • Other ways to find positions: • Bulletin Boards • Listservs • JagNews • Departmental and Hospital Websites • Classrooms • Referrals (advisors, professors, and staff can refer you to apply for positions)

Showcase Your Resume • Required to apply for many part-time positions • No greater than 1 page • Reverse chronological order (from most recent to least recent) • High school information is okay to include if you are just entering college • Use bold and italics sparingly Don’t: • Use a resume template • Use personal pronouns • Include personal information (like age, gender, ethnicity)
