Review for quarter 2 test 1

Super Duper Challenge: The sum of two numbers is 89.478 and the difference is 15.778. Find the two numbers.

Here is a suggestion on how to solve it:

Divide both the sum and the difference by 2. You should have two quotients--44.739 and 7.889. Find the difference of the two quotients (which is 36.85). Then find the sum of the two quotients (which is 52.628). And there are the two numbers! 36.85 and 52.628. Pretty cool, right?

(A question like this is NOT on the test!)
