Introduction • There are specific formulas that you can use to find the volume of everyday objects! • Today we are going to learn the formulas for finding the volumes of cylinders, cones, and spheres. • After visiting a few websites, you should be comfortable with these formulas and ready to find the volume of real-life objects!

  3. Task Students are required to know the formulas for the volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres. Students will memorize these formulas and use them to solve real-world mathematical problems.

  4. Copy down the formula for the volume of a Cylinder. This website is interactive so you can change the height and radius of the Cylinder. Play around with this model and be sure to read the “How to find the volume of a cylinder” section. • Next, go to the second website listed below. Copy down the formula for the volume of a Cone. Study the Cone and be aware of what components you need to fine the area of the Cone. Looking at the two examples provided will make give you an idea of what a volume problem looks like. • Finally, go to the third website listed before. Copy down the formula for the volume of a sphere. This is just a basic model, but it is very clear on what components you need to solve for volume. Study this model.
