  1. MAS Project2009-2010

  2. MAS project • MAS project • PDP using delegate MAS • write a comprehensive report (10-12 pages) • 2 students per team • exam • prepare a short presentation / questions • discussion on your paper • deadline STRICT!! • Thursday, June 10 16h00 • submit at secretariat Computer Science and on-line

  3. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • aspects • analysis / architecture / design • implementation • evaluation • report • feedback session

  4. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • aspects • analysis / architecture / design • analysis: what are the exact requirements? • domain model? functional / non-functional requirement? • ToD / WoD / …? • software architecture • which agents? complete fit with ‘Task agent / Resource agent’? • what are the ‘interaction situations’ you need to solve? • e.g. task allocation, routing, … • how can you solve the interaction situations? coherently? • fit delegate MAS? variation… • agent architecture? • BDI? All related design decisions… (intentions, ‘plans’, commitment strategy, …) • detailed design • class diagram (+ necessary interaction diagrams) • …

  5. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • aspects • analysis / architecture / design • … • Implementation • ‘functional’ • using simulation environment as in PC-lab sessions • to support evaluation • …

  6. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • aspects • analysis / architecture / design • … • implementation • … • evaluation … is crucial !! • Experimental • what exactly you have tested and why (flexibility? performance? scalability?) • how you have tested this (which scenarios? which metrics? which dynamics?), • measurements (i.e. results), and • a discussion of the results and a critical reflection on the approach you followed in your project • … • Critical reflection • What are the advantages and disadvantages of your system? • What are the main problems you have solved? • What are the remaining problems and what suggestions do you have to solve them? • Why does/doesn’t your solution perform (very) well? • …

  7. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • aspects • analysis / architecture / design • … • implementation • … • evaluation • … • report • comprehensive, quality document or paper! • focus! • devote ample space for describing solution/architecture (+- 50%) • devote ample space for evaluation (+- 50%) • don’t explain how delegate MAS works • show what you’ve learned in this project! • document your assumptions / restrictions / simplifications

  8. MAS project: PDP using dMAS • Feedback… • You are expected to contact Mario Cruz Torres for guidance and feedback! • Formal feedback moment (mandatory): • Thursday May 6, 2010, afternoon • What to bring (at least): • Things to discuss your solution approach, e.g. class diagram, … • Esp. BDI structure, intention, commitment strategy • Experimentation strategy • Esp. performance indicators, experimentation scenarios, … • Bring printed copies of your documents!

  9. Examination • appr. 20 minutes per person • a short (2-5 minutes, 2-5 slides) presentation • a quick demo • an oral discussion on your project and topics that directly relate to it
