Housekeeping • Writing Field Test Sample – we will notify you of selected schools next week • Fall PreID window closes this Friday • Winter EOC PreID window opens next Monday • Calculator Orders due Friday, 9/14 • Civics EOC Assessment field test exemption form • Question cards and evaluation form

What’s New • ePAT Requirements • If a student has previously participated in a practice session for the SAME subject/grade level test, he or she is not required to participate again • Electronic Devices during breaks • Strengthened policy language to include use of electronic devices during breaks (lunch, restroom) within the same session

What’s New • Testing Rules Acknowledgement • Beginning with Winter EOC (Student Honor Statement for Fall Retake) • A list of rules in the administration scripts will be read to students; students sign/check the box to indicate they understand the rules and the implications of violating rules • If a student refuses to sign: • TA contacts SAC • SAC removes student from testing room • Student is tested on a make-up day • If the student still refuses, documentation of this is kept at the school

  6. What’s New • Chain of Custody Form has been modified • Second page requiring signatures has been removed • Purpose is to account for security of materials at all times

  7. What’s New • Chain of Custody Form • Location of storage room • Names of persons with access • Materials • Date arrived at school • Date shrink-wrapped packages opened (by whom) • Date prepared (by whom) • Date packaged for return (by whom) • Date materials returned to the district

What’s New • Two-session tests over two days - MUST complete Session 1 before Session 2 • Has always been best practice • First year we are implementing this as policy • In best interest of students • Testing Rules Acknowledgment located in Session 1 • Cannot unseal Session 2 of a CBT test prior to completing Session 1

What’s New • Session 1 CBT test sessions for all students should be scheduled prior to scheduling session 2 test sessions • For example, session 1 is scheduled on day 1 and 2, and session 2 is scheduled on day 3 and 4 • Policy applies to scheduled sessions, not make-ups (i.e., students may begin taking session 2 even if some students still need to make-up session 1)

  10. What’s New • CBT Worksheet • For use with CBT Reading and Social Studies Tests (beginning with Fall) • Emailed to districts and Posted to PearsonAccess • One per student • Collected and treated as secure materials after testing (like Work Folders)

What’s New • Reference Sheets • Hard-copy reference sheets will not be provided after the Fall Retake • Schools may make copies of the reference sheet in the manual for students • Logistics International • New company for materials pickup • K2 Logistics is printed in the Fall manual • Subcontracts with Blue Streak • New contact information will be sent in coming weeks

  13. Materials Delivery • EOC Assessments, Retakes, FCAT 2.0 Writing • Materials may not be delivered to schools more than one week prior to testing • FCAT 2.0 Reading, Mathematics, and Science • Materials may not be delivered to schools more than two weeks prior to testing

Materials Return • Materials must be returned according to established pickup dates • Scores for materials returned late will be included in LATE REPORTING • For instance, late grade 3 materials will be released in Wave 1 late reporting, not with grades 4 – 8 • Paper-based accommodations for CBT tests have an accelerated return schedule • Materials that cannot be returned on time may be transcribed in a computer-based form or they will be reported late

  15. Communication • Some manual references to faxing documents have been removed • Online forms and surveys • Never send student identifiable information (SSN, etc.) via email • Never send test content information via email • Look for and file important emails

Fall Retake • October 8 – 19 • FCAT 2.0 Reading Retake • FCAT Reading Retake is no longer administered (these students take 2.0 and must earn a 241 passing score) • FCAT Mathematics Retake • CBT sessions may be scheduled during entire two-week window, if needed • Paper-based accommodated tests should be completed during the first two days of testing in the district

  17. Winter EOC Assessments • Refinement to the 2012 schedule • Subject order designation • Biology  Algebra 1  Geometry • November 28 – December 19, 2012 • First winter administration of Biology 1 and Geometry

FCAT 2.0 • Refinements to the 2012-13 schedule • One make-up day for Writing • FCAT 2.0 CBT tests begin at different times during the two-week window • Week 1 – Grades 7 and 10 Reading • Week 2 – Grades 6 and 9 Reading, Grade 5 Mathematics • All middle school Mathematics on Day 1 • Grade 5 Science moved to Week 1 • Grade 8 Science has a designated administration day in Week 1 (Thursday) • Make-up days were added for Week 2 testing

Spring EOC Assessments • Students to be tested – Algebra 1 • All students enrolled in and completing one of the approved courses at the time of test administration • Students who need to retake the assessment to earn a passing score for course credit • Students who entered 9th grade in the 2010-11 school year who • who have not yet taken the assessment to be averaged as 30% of their course grade • who are in grade forgiveness programs and wish to retake the assessment to improve their course grade • Students in a credit acceleration program (CAP) who wish to take the assessment to earn course credit

Spring EOC Assessments • Students to be tested – Civics Field test • Students enrolled in and completing one of the following courses: • Civics – 2106010 • Civics –2106015 • Civics & Career Planning – 2106016 • Civics, Advanced – 2106020 • Civics, Advanced –2106025 • Civics, Advanced & Career Planning – 2106026 • Civics and Digital Technologies – 2106029 • Students who completed one of the above courses at the end of semester one should NOT participate in this field test administration. • Any students who require paper-based accommodations, accommodated CBT forms, or computer-based assistive devices will not participate.
