  2. Chlamydia Screening Programme– Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland • Performance to date Target for 2009-10 36,575 (25% of 15-24yrs)

Chlamydia Screening Programme – Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland • Where we screen (over 300 sites in total): • Choices – 10 sites – young people’s sexual health service • Contraceptive Services – eight sites • GPs – 82 County GPs (98%), 61 City GPs (97%) • Schools – (County only) • Military bases – RAF Cottesmore, army barracks N. Luffenham • Prisons – HMP YOI Glen Parva, HMP Leicester, HMP Gartree, HMP Stretton • Universities and colleges • Employers, eg, British Gas Centrica • Pharmacists (LES going live this month) • Voluntary Sector (eg, TRADE, LASS) • Youth Offending Service • Bars/pubs/clubs

What we’re working on2009-2010 Target: 23,195 (25% of 15-24s) • National sexual health campaign launched 5th November • Chlamydia TV and radio ads will go live Jan 2010 • School assemby programme being delivered • Training all pharmacists new to the programme (approx 60 sites) • Improving uptake of male screening by looking at sports clubs, TA, etc. • Screening in bars/pubs/clubs (commencing Dec 09) • Embedding with GPs – appointing locality GP champions • Practice Nurse champion appointed (Jan Strefford, Ibstock Medical Practice)

  6. NCSP Direction • Minimum of 60% of screens to come from core services: • Contraceptive Services (CASH) • GPs • Pharmacies • TOP Leicester City 84.3% LCR 48.3%
