  2. Problem Statement (DONE!) • Constraints (DONE!) • Plan • Research • Alternative Solution (EACH STUDENT COMPLETES ONE GOOGLE SKETCH-UP) • Material List • Final Solution - explanation • Final Solution – Google Sketch-up: top, front, sides views • Wix.com - EXTRA3-7 points (depends on quality of work) • Reflection • Websites used / Webliography Overview

  3. Write in a complete sentence the problem using the format: ([Who] need(s) [what] because [why].) • Your aunt needs a new device to dispense samples of her candy because she has created new flavors and wants her customers to try it. Define the Problem – DONE!

  4. Your candy dispenser must be made with at least 7 different items. • You must decide on a name for your candy dispenser. • The candy dispenser must be able to hold at least 4 ounces of candy and be able to dispense a small “free sample” of approximately 4-8 pieces of candy. Constraints – DONE!

  7. 2. For the 3 dispensers above, what is the mechanism or method to release the food?

  9. Ahamya’s Solution (Google sketch-up)

  10. Mackenzie’s Solution (Google sketch-up)

  11. List all items used as a part of the candy dispenser, including any fasteners or adhesives Material List

  12. We chose Mackenzie’s solution because it was a simpler design. Ahamya’s design was a bit more complex and we were not sure how we would construct it. On the other hand, Mackenzie’s design was clean, easy design. We could both understand how we were going to construct it. The design was much easier to understand as well. It was the better design. Final Solution Explanation(What was your criteria or thought-process when selecting the final solution?)

  17. What would you change about your design if you were to build a real candy dispenser? We’d make it out of more durable materials if we were to construct it for real. It would need to be made out of much more durable material, like a hard plastic. We’d also make it more attractive by making it much more colorful. How could you improve your project if you had to create it again? We would spend more time thinking through the design rather than just jumping right into building the model. We wasted time redoing portions of the project. What have you learned about your performance and how would you improve your performance on the next project? (Be specific) We helped each other along the way. With one partner sick, we did the best that we could to work as one well oiled machine. In the next project, (if we were partners again) we would try work more collaboratively. Specifically, we would communicate more to ensure that both partners liked the outcome.. What advice would you give students who will be assigned this project in the future? (Be specific.) Make sure to communicate! You cannot do everything by yourself! Reflect on the project
