  4. UC/CSUA-G REQUIREMENTS A.History/Social Science – 2 YEARS REQUIRED B. English – 4 YEARS REQUIRED C. Mathematics – 3 YEARS REQUIRED, 4 YEARS RECOMMENDED Must complete Algebra 2. D. Laboratory Science – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, 3 YEARS RECOMMENDED Biology, chemistry and physics. E. Language Other than English – 2 YEARS REQUIRED, 3 YEARS RECOMMENDED Two years of the same language other than English. F. Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) – 1 YEAR REQUIRED Dance, drama/theater, music or visual art. G.College-Preparatory Electives – 1 YEAR REQUIRED “A-G” courses must be completed with ‘C’ grade or higher

COLLEGE ADMISSION TESTING CSU’s (California State University): SAT Reasoning Test or ACT required for admission UC’s (University of California): SAT Reasoning Test or ACT required for admission Private and Out of State Schools: Check individual admission requirements Community College: No SAT or ACT required. Community College placement test required All Juniors will take the EAP with your 11th grade English class during CST testing See RBV Counseling web page for more info

Registration Timeline • Your students will attend the Registration Presentation on: • JUNIORS February 23, 2012 • SOPHOMORES March 22, 2012 • FRESHMAN April 12, 2012 • Counselors will meet with your students individually to discuss their 2012-13 course selections and create individualized academic plans by grade level. Students must bring their completed Course Worksheet to their meeting. • JUNIORSMonth ofMARCH • SOPHOMORES Month ofAPRIL • FRESHMANMonth ofMAY

Registration Materials Students must bring all completed and signed forms to registration meeting (if applicable) • Course Worksheet • Must have all required teacher signatures for: Electives, Sports, ASB, Yearbook. • Honors Waiver • needed if student elects to take course that is not recommended or has not fulfilled prerequisite. • Avaible from in the Counseling Office • T.A. Form(11th and 12th Grade only) • If your student requests to be a Teacher’s Aide

Reminders • There is NO SUMMER SCHOOL available • Honors classes do not need to be taken in block.(except incoming 9th graders). • Early Assessment Program(EAP) – 11th graders will take the EAP test this year during their English CST. • Student’s must make up “D’s” in core CSU/UC subject areas. • Students should see their counselor ASAP for more information.
