  3. 2. 1. 3. Introduction to the layout of the KS • Upon logging in you will see your home page and a welcome message. Next to the welcome message are links that lead you back home, to your “My Account” page, and logout. • The top of the page is the top navigation pane. The top navigation pane contains icon links to the modules of the KS. Most users will have at least the “Knowledge” icon. Additionally, you may have an icon link for surveys or administration tools. • The left side of the page is left navigation pane. The left navigation pane also has links to the modules of the KS and the home page.

Left navigation pane and content pane Content Pane • The left navigation (left nav) pane operates with a “tree” organization. • The “Home” bar has 5 tree categories • Email/announcements – compose and read emails • Calendar – view corporate calendar • Message Boards – chat tool • Project Management – view projects and report time • Employee Directory- view employee contact information • The “Knowledge Sharing” bar leads to the search function for the knowledge sharing module. • The content pane displays announcements for “Home” module and folders or files for the “Knowledge Sharing” module.
