  6. How To Hire Older Workers (1) • Provide contract work • Provide part-time or seasonal work • Provide “work-from-home” arrangements • Improve the ergonomics of the workplace • Create a socially engaging environment • Encourage mentoring of younger employees

  7. How to Hire Older Workers (2) • Consider transferable skills to enable a new career • Subsidize training to update skills to improve performance • Don’t exclude candidates on price. The historical income may not be needed

  8. The Community Benefits • Income Taxes are inflow vs pension and services outflow • A looming skill shortage will be reduced • Older workers can adapt to other industries in need of their transferable skills • The health and well-being of the Canadian economy wins !
