  1. Luminosity Monitor MWPC status report A.Kiselev OLYMPUS Collaboration Meeting DESY, Hamburg, 09.09.2011

  2. Layout of the talk Installation in the experiment Survey and alignment Performance in the august test run ToDo list

  3. Installation at DORIS July 2011 • Missing part of equipment delivered to DESY and tested on time • Installation in the experiment went smoothly • No apparent conflicts with other subdetectors seen • Cabling work done • Installation in the EH is complete

  4. Installation at DORIS July 2011

  5. Installation at DORIS July 2011

  6. Installation at DORIS July 2011

  7. Survey and alignment • 3-6 target nests per chamber • ~150um per point matching accuracy in XY-directions -> quite some work and effort from the MEA team!

  8. Survey and alignment -> NB: data quoted in 12-degree rotated system! • chambers are more or less in place • ~100um positioning accuracy (stat. errors only)

  9. August 2011 test run at DORIS Small leakage currents (typically below 100nA per plane) Low hit occupancy (typically 1 hit per plane for “track candidate events”) No issues with the readout No trips, even during injection -> in general: very reasonable performance!

  10. Test run wire maps (left arm)

  11. Test run wire maps (right arm)

  12. MWPC ToDo list till Feb’2012 • Replace few preamplifier cards • Arrange temperature measurement (+ respective Slow Control) • Design/manufacture/install/test SiPM-based trigger scintillators • Consider CROS3 2.5ns-slice firmware upgrade • Manufacture/ship/test a spare MWPC • Install CAEN multichannel TDC • Tune DAQ driver • Finalize survey/alignment • Verify efficiencies; select working conditions • Finalize software integration
