  1. What Are Your Children Doing? John Bourgeois Michael Connolly Crystal Lawson

  2. Thesis Statement Kids today are affected more by media then our parents or other adults were when they were children.

  3. Three little pigs First published in 1843 There was a hungry wolf looking for something to eat He came upon three little pigs The wolf was sly and tried to convince the pigs to let him in their houses The first pig’s house was made out of straw, so the wolf blew his house down. The second pig’s house was made out of sticks, so the wolf blew his house down. The third pig’s house was made out of brick, and the wolf tried to blow his house down , but failed. After a while the wolf just gave up on trying to eat the pigs.

  4. Positives and Negatives What are the positives and negatives to a child being exposed to this? Positives- the positives to this story is to realize not to let strangers into your house, do not talk to strangers. And also make sure that your house is sturdy and well built. Negatives- the negatives of this story is the bullying factor. The wolf bullies the pigs.

  5. Target Market The media usually targets all kids as one big group when it comes to products or television shows. They put the children’s favorite TV characters on different types of food boxes to persuade the parents to buy them for their children. Children usually get excited when they see their favorite character on a box of cereal, they think that the food will taste better because of the character on the front of the box.

  6. Subliminal Messages of the three little pigs Do not let strangers in your home Make your house built strong There is always going to be a bully in the world

  7. Tortoise and the Hare One day a tortoise challenged a Hare to a race, and the Hare accepted the challenge. On the day of the race, the hare was all cocky knowing that he was going to win so he did not need to try that hard. When the race started, the hare got a terrific head start and left the tortoise in the dust. The tortoise headed on his way to the finish line. In the meantime, the hare got tired and decided to take a nap. He slept too long and the tortoise got ahead of him. Long story short, the hare lost his opportunity to win and the tortoise finally beat the hare.

  8. Positives and Negatives of Today’s Media Positives Negatives Work your hardest at everything you do Work at your own pace Never back down from any challenge • Do not be cocky • The Hare makes fun of the tortoise • Don’t have a big ego

  9. Main Issues One main issue is that children are not getting enough exercise daily because of the media we have today. When our parents were our age, they would be outside until it got dark out or if it was time for dinner. Media is taking over young children’s lives and if they continue to watch TV, play video games, surfing the web, or texting, their brains will not completely develop the way it is supposed to.

  10. Shrek Shrek is an Ogre that lives in a swamp One day his swamp is raided by all of the other fairy tales He has to go to lord Farkwahd to receive his swamp back. Lord Farkwahd sends Shrek on a Quest to find his princess Shrek finds her but falls in love with her Shrek and the princess get married, but then the princess’s secret is revealed, she is an Ogre too Shrek gets his swamp back

  11. Positives- The positives of Shrek is that you recognize someone’s inner beauty If you work hard at something and do not give up, you will eventually receive what your after. Negatives- The negatives of Shrek is that everyone wants to get rid of him. He has to battle a dragon in order to get to the princess Positives and Negatives of Shrek

  12. Ratatouille • There was a rat named Remy and he was a very talented chef • Remy was helping Linguini cook at a restaurant named Gusteau’s • Remy steals food for his family • Linguini catches him and doesn’t want to see Remy again • Linguini regrets sending Remy away because now he cannot cook. • Remy eventually returns and Linguini cooks the best dish and names it Ratatouille

  13. Positives-Man and Animal can interact and achieve goals Anything is possible when you set your mind to it. Don’t judge something by the way how it looks, it could be something good Negatives- People see rats as gross infested rodents, when they can actually be very talented chefs. Don’t make fun of someone’s disabilities. Positives and Negatives of Ratatouille
