  2. Pure steam generators (PSG) also known as clean steam generators are used to generate clean steam used to sanitize critical and hygiene sensitive equipment and environments. There are two types of steam in pharmaceutical industry. One is industrial steam that is used in boilers and vessels and is does not come in contact with the product and process equipment. Industrial steam is usually less pure that the other second type – pharmaceutical steam. Pharmaceutical steam is produced from treated water generally Water for Injection (WFI) and is used for sterilising products, conditioning material or process equipment that comes in direct contact with the product.
