Neric Acosta • Vice President for Mindanao of the Liberal Party • Former Secretary-General of the Liberal Party • Secretary General of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats • 3-term congressperson (1998-2007) as representative of Bukidnon • Sponsored major environmental bills: clean water, solid waste management and biodiversity protection • Principal author of groundbreaking Clean Air Act, model of environmental legislation in Asia • Chaired Committee on Ecology • Vice-chair of Committees on Science and Technology, Human Rights, and Foreign Relations • Represented the country in international forums including the UN Special Assembly on HIV/AIDS • Served as Deputy Secretary General of the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development • Associate Professor at the Asian Institute of Management and the Ateneo de Manila University • Active in microfinance, rural development and environmental protection projects in Bukidnon
