Introduction:Combining Classes • Combining of two distinct classes • Taught as a single class (AIS 140/ANTH 140) • One attendance roster per class number • One grade roster per class number • Same facility/time • One Event ID • Enrollment controlled at both the section level and the combined level. PeopleSoft 8.1

  3. Introduction • Remember: Combined classes must have the same session. • Combined classes will share the same instructor(s), facility, and meeting time, and dates. PeopleSoft 8.1

  4. Create a Combined Sections ID • Creating a new combined ID • Spring 2003 • Full Semester • BUS 125 • BGMT 101 (Demonstration Only!) • Navigate to the Combined Sections Table PeopleSoft 8.1

  6. Create a Combined Sections ID On this page: to add a new Combined Section ID Click PeopleSoft 8.1

  7. Create a Combined Sections ID BUS/BGMT TH 11:00 • A new row has been inserted. The ID number will automatically be generated. • Enter a long description. [BUS/BGMT TTH 11:00] • (Format suggestion: Subj\Cat\Pat\Time) • the data. • Scroll to the bottom of the page, or • Alt + 1 + enter PeopleSoft 8.1

  8. Create a Combined Sections ID In this example, Combined SectionID 0301 was created and saved. PeopleSoft 8.1

  9. Combine Individual Classes • Link Classes to the new Combined ID BUS 125 #31708 Combined ID 0301 BGMT 101 #31726 PeopleSoft 8.1

  10. Link Classes to ID Navigate to the Combined Sections page. Enter the Combined ID Click PeopleSoft 8.1

  11. On this page, you define rules and match specific class numbers to a common Combined Section ID. 0301 BUS/BGMT TTH 11:00 Capacities? (Comb Level) Class Numbers to combine PeopleSoft 8.1

  12. Link Classes to ID Class #31708 and Class #31726 have been combined using Combined ID 0301. 60 PeopleSoft 8.1

  13. Enrollment Control • Enrollment Capacity and Wait List Capacity • Enrollment & waitlist capacities are set at both the individual class level and at the combined class level. • Capacity is governed by the lower of the individual class or the combined class values. PeopleSoft 8.1
