Open the plastic cover surrounding the control panel on the front of your Xerox Phaser 7400 by pulling on either side of the cover so that it swings down and away from the printer. The long, black waste toner cartridge becomes accessible and must be removed before installing a new cartridge.
Press down and hold the the orange release tab located on the top right side of the used waste toner cartridge to unlock the cartridge from the printer. While holding the orange release tab, pull the used waste cartridge down and away from the printer, and remove it by lifting it out of your printer.
