  1. David Livingston By Arran and Daniel

  2. When he was born • David Livingston was born in Glasgow the 19th of March 1813

  3. Work • At the age of 10 he stared work in a cotton mill, with school lessons in the evening. • In 1836 he started studying medicine and theology in Glasgow and decided to be a missionary doctor. • In 1841 he was posted on the edge of the Kalahari Desert in south Africa. • In 1845 he married Marry Moffat, daughter of a fellow missionary.

  4. Why he was successful • he had an education • Scotland had the best medical schools • He had a spirit of adventure which took him to south africa.

  5. When he died • His heath had been poor for years he died on the 1st of May 1873 • After nothing was heard from him after many months Henry Stanley an explorer and a journalist set out to find him. • His body was taken back to England and he was buried in Westminester Abbey
