  1. 8-2 Similar Polygons

  2. Two figures that have the same shape but not necessarily the same size are similar (~).

  3. 6 2 Two polygons are similar if 1) corresponding angles are congruent 2) corresponding sides are proportional The ratio of the lengths of the corresponding sides is the similarity ratio. The similarity ratio is 6:2 or 3:1.

  4. Are the quadrilaterals similar? Are all angles congruent? Are the sides proportional? If so, write a similarity statement and determine the similarity ratio. Therefore, ABCD ~ XYZW. The similarity ratio is 2:1.

  5. Determine whether the figures are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and give the similarity ratio.

  6. Determine whether the figures are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and give the similarity ratio.

  7. Determine whether the figures are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and give the similarity ratio.

  8. Determine whether the figures are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and give the similarity ratio.

  9. Determine whether the figures are similar. If so, write a similarity statement and give the similarity ratio.

  10. The polygons are similar. Find the values of the variables.

  11. The polygons are similar. Find the values of the variables.
