Autumn Term: • World War Two from a child's viewpoint with a trip (November 12th: Mozart and Simone) and (November 13th: Caruso) to London Docklands Museum Book - Carrie's War Spring Term: • Revision Term. • Book - Holes Summer Term: • The Arrival by Shaun Tan. • The Normans. • Visit to Stansted Mountfitchet Castle (about £18) - 4th June: 2 classes and 5th June: 1 class.

SATs Week Monday 11th May – Thursday 14th May • Booster classes for the Year Group • Targeted-group before school sessions • School purchase of Study books • Setting/grouping for Maths and English lessons • SATs linked homework books Mr Halilaj, Miss Khan and Mr Wolfersare joined by Mrs Labuschagne, Ms Kalhan and Mrs Butler in the Maths and English Sets.

  9. “My child can read well and disappears with a book.” Reading “Oh that’s great but do they understand what they are reading? Do you ask them questions and have conversations with them about the book?”

  10. “I haven’t got time to sit down and listen to him read every night” Reading “Have them read to you while you wash the dishes or do some ironing. You only need to hear them read for 5 or 10 minutes a day.”

Self-Assured and Trained "Toughen them up for Secondary School". -strict routines -ownership of equipment -time-keeping -time-wasting -changing from working independently to partner or group work with the minimum of fuss -building resilience -taking risks and making mistakes are all part of the learning journey
