The Forest . By: Cara Janowsky. Northern Hawk Owl. An owl eats rodents, small birds, frogs, and fish. This owl lives in a hollow tree. The Northern Hawk Owl lives in a big nest, so it would need a big amount of space. An owl does not drink it gets moisture from the meat it eats. Forest Fish.

  2. Northern Hawk Owl • An owl eats rodents, small birds, frogs, and fish. • This owl lives in a hollow tree. • The Northern Hawk Owl lives in a big nest, so it would need a big amount of space. • An owl does not drink it gets moisture from the meat it eats.

  3. Forest Fish • A fish finds its food by eating plankton. • These fish live in a forest stream. • These fish drink a lot of water and live in it. • These fish also have a lot of space because the stream is pretty big.

  4. Forest Plants • A plant in this forest is definitely grass and hollow trees. • There are also many wild flowers growing here. • Lichen or moss grows on rocks and trees. • Finally, bushes grow here for animals to live on or eat.

  5. People Help and Hurt My Ecosystem • People destroy my ecosystem by cutting down the trees. • They also help. They help my ecosystem by raising money to grow trees. • Finally, people help my ecosystem by learning about endangered animals to help them.

  6. Interdependent • The plants and animals in this ecosystem are interdependent because most of them are in a food chain together. • Another way they are interdependent is that they make homes for each other. • Finally, they are interdependent because they camouflage into each other.
