Globalization • Globalization can be defined as the diminishing importance of geographical, political, economic and cultural boundaries. • IT has played a huge role in diminishing these boundaries. • One good example of this is how a dramatic event can be broadcasted instantaneity by television or the internet.

  3. Effects of Globalization • People have greater access to vast amounts of information • Dramatic events can be spread around the world instantly • People can purchase products from anywhere in the world

  4. Negative Effects of Globalization • Many people think that globalization has a negative effect due to job insecurity. Prior to todays time people had stable, permanent jobs. In todays times people live in constant dread of losing their jobs to competition. This competition has reduced the wages of these jobs causing poor living conditions and high levels of stress.

  5. Cultural Diversity • Cultural Diversity can be defined as the existence of a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within a society. • With over 7,000 different languages in the world culture has been mixed and intertwined over the years

Cultural Diversity • Since there are so many different cultures existent in the world it is important to gain and understanding and respect for people that are different than yourselves. • With a knowledge of cultural distinctions one can better interact with others and be a greater benefit to society.

Social Issues • There are many social issues that are intertwined within the topics of globalization and cultural diversity • The biggest one that comes to mind is the fact that since our world today is so culturally diverse that society constantly has to keep up with learning new languages as well as being open to accept new and different cultures.

Global Issues • The global issues of this topic are self-explanatory • With so many different cultures in the world we as a global society must be informed and educated to all of the barriers that are present in todays society and must strive to break them down and interact and learn from people that aren't like us

  9. Ethical Issues • The ethical issues that are intertwined within this topic is the fact that me as a society must learn to be accepting of different cultures and others that may not be like us. • With there being so many different cultures existent today we are bound to run into people that are not like us and we need to not only be accepting but welcoming and friendly.
