Rate Setting Policy • Community systems are financially self-sustaining (operations and maintenance and repair and replacement) • Developers of community systems subsidize maintenance and operation until 90% occupancy • User rates are subject to review and revision periodically by the LCSA Board Community Systems Rate Proposal

  10. Raspberry Falls Average Daily Usage - 2007 On an annual basis, twice as much water is used for outside purposes than for inside the home. Users in the central system use only ¼ as much outside as they use inside annually. Note: Raspberry Falls had 125 of 180 connections as of 12/31/07 Community Systems Rate Proposal

What We’re Doing To Help With Demand Management • Investigating the cost/benefit of installing or retrofitting smart irrigation systems • Investigating the cost/benefit of offering discounts and rebates for water-saving products • Investigating the effects and acceptance of mandatory (odd/even or other) restrictions • Planning continued outreach to: • Raise awareness • Change water use behavior and landscaping Community Systems Rate Proposal

  12. What You Can Do To Reduce Your Bill • Reduce your irrigation(daily watering is a bill killer) • Use slow-release fertilizer and keep grass taller • Use native plantings, install shade trees, mulch flower beds (ask us for a free landscape guide) • Other ideas: • Sweep, don’t wash your driveway • Only run dish/clothes washer when full • Turn off faucets while brushing teeth, hand-washing dishes, shaving • Fix leaks • Click on www.lcsa.org → All Things Water → Wise Water Use Community Systems Rate Proposal
