  2. Classifications Freshman: 0-5 ½ credits Sophomore: 6-11 credits Junior: 12-17 ½ credits Senior: 18 credits and above

  3. Graduation Requirements • 26 required credits • Pass STAAR Tests • Fill out college applications • Take two college entrance exams, PSAT, SAT , ACT 5. Community Service – 80 hours

  4. Recommended High School Program Graduation Requirements (RHSGP) English 4 credits Math 4 credits Science 4 credits Social Studies 4 credits Languages 2 credits Health ½ credit Speech ½ credit Technology 1 credit Physical Education or Substitute 1 credits Fine Arts 1 credit Electives 4 credits __________ Total Credits 26 credits

Graduation Requirements • 4 – English: I, II, III, IV • 4 – Math: Algebra I & II, Geometry & Pre Calculus • 4 – Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics & a fourth science course • 3.5 – Social Studies: W. Geography, W. History, US History & Government • .5 Economics • .5 – Health • 1 – PE, but can now earn up to four PE credits in athletics • 2 – Foreign Language • 1 – Fine Arts • .5 – Communication Applications • 1- Technology • 4 – Electives

  6. Community Service • Graduating Seniors are required to perform community service. The Class of 2014 required to complete 80 hours of community service. • Community Service Agencies • Human Society/Senior Centers/Community Centers/Church • Convalescent Homes/Child Crisis/Blood Drives/School Sponsored • Some community service projects include (but are not limited to): • Reading for older people in nursing homes • Cleaning a park • Getting involved with Habitat for Humanity • Helping out a local library

  7. Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP) • Requirements: • Complete all required courses • Successfully complete four advanced measures • Three years of a foreign language

Measures Four advanced Measures: four (4) advanced measures from each of these items: • The college Board’s Advanced Placement Examinations • Dual Credit Two Advanced Measures: • Original research /project • Each successful original research project will count as one advanced measure • College course credit One advanced measure: As per SBOE rule, no more then one advanced measure allowed from: • PSAT Commended Score May count as only one advanced measure regardless of the number of honors received by the student
