  18. Returns to education • For each additional year of schooling, women’s salary increases on average for 7.5%, whilst that of men for 3.3%. • One part of the returns to education for individuals comes in the shape of employment chances. • As well as the impact on higher chances of employment among women.

Policy Implications • Reallocate funding according to priorities • Give priority to funding human capital • Fund general curricula based on competences • Fund quality improvements • Autonomy / decision making combined with accountability • Improvement of communication and coordination between education system levels • Inclusion of professional guidance (career guidance) in the HEI • Strengthening of ties of the general education, as well as higher secondary and higher education with the labor market
