Multimedia - an art based discipline?LTSN-ICS Multimedia Workshop Some features  in early 70’s as a fine artist saw robotics as performers … if only stadium rock concerts convergence - integration - accumulation - lower cost - size copy + type [libraries] + photos [libraries] + illustrations [clip art] + tables [import] + charts [import] + scanning [hi-res] + full colour print = “wizards + DTP” or  web-based ‘brochure-ware’ - with little interaction, no printing features product design >> user centred design >> information architects  on-screen type use~deployment use of animation in OS skins - Mac OS X dock

Multimedia - an art based discipline?LTSN-ICS Multimedia Workshop Conclusions  is Multimedia an art based discipline?  extremecollage~eclecticism engine  art & design are practice based [as is much of computing] but the confusion is in content vs capability = avaiators and posers vs animators = Mac OS X vs Windows XP icons need to explore and exploit new cultural territory = interface design  creative within programming  creative interactions and user focus …
