4. Israel Was Also God’s Son Exodus 4:22
Then you shall say to Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Israel is My son, My first-born.’”
When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son.
5. Adam/Jesus Analogy Adam as God’s son fails when tempted.
Adam failed because he wanted to be like God.
Adam’s failure made all his sons sinners.
6. Israel/Jesus Analogy Israel was led by God into the wilderness, as was Jesus.
Israel “rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit” (Isaiah 63:10), but Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit and obeyed.
Israel was allowed to hunger to learn one does not live by bread alone (Deut. 8:3).
Israel was instructed to worship only God (Deut. 6:13).
Israel was told to not put God to the test(Deut. 6:16).
Unlike Israel, Jesus obeyed these Scriptures.

And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led about by the Spirit in the wilderness for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days; and when they had ended, He became hungry.

And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”

And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; for it is written, ‘He will give His angels charge concerning You to guard You,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear You up, Lest You strike Your foot against a stone.’”

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow, we shall go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and also do this or that.”
