Maine CF Family Advisory Board • Invites you to join us for the 2014 CF Family Education Day • Thursday, May 1st 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM • At the Senator Inn in Augusta, Maine • In accordance with the new CF Foundation Infection Prevention and Control Policy, we are asking individuals with CF to NOT attend this event. Live streaming instructions will be available on CFFamilyadvisoryboard-maine.com website and digital copies of the event will be available in the weeks to follow. • Our topics for discussion will include: • You Want Me To Do What?? The evidence behind recommended daily therapies. Colby Wyatt MD, PHD. • Living with CF Ron Sharpe. Ron Sharpe is an adult and father with CF, founder of CysticLife.org a social network, and creator of the blog RunSickboyRun.com, a positive and inspiring blog describing the life experiences of an adult with CF. • Breakout Sessions: Small group discussions on the following topics will be led by CF team members: • Navigating the insurance world • First admission to the hospital, what to expect, what to bring • Coping with a chronic disease • How to make nutrition work • CF related diabetes • Vocational rehab, planning for careers • Infection control • Questions for your pharmacist • Please choose 2 breakout sessions when you RSVP. Bring your thoughts and questions. • Representatives will have tables set up with educational materials and information on products and medications used in treating Cystic Fibrosis. • For individuals with CF unable to attend the meeting, we will be livestreaming the event. (207) 622-8800 • From the south: Take I-95 North. In South Portland, take Exit 52 for I-295 North. Follow I-295 North (for about 50 miles) until it once again becomes I-95 (just past the Gardiner Toll Plaza). After the Gardiner toll booth, go 7 miles to Exit 109 in Augusta. Bear right off the exit onto Western Avenue. The Senator Inn will be immediately on your right. • From the north: Take I-95 south to Exit 109A. Bear right off the exit onto Western Avenue. The Senator Inn will be immediately on your right.
