  1. When were these S&W handcuffs serial number 874147 made?

  2. When were these S&W handcuffs serial number 874147 made? • One of a kind, irreplaceable — these handcuffs have been passed from hand to hand across the world It’s not every day you see a pair of handcuffs made in 1919, let alone 1919 Smith & Wesson handcuffs that are serial number 874147. • This is what I found out when I was given the chance to handle this one of a kind artifact from the late 1800s. • Before we go any further, I’d like to stress that when I say made in 1919 — they weren’t made until the 1920s. • But I think, in 1919, it was a one shot deal as far as the S&W handcuffs go. • And that’s what draws people to them. Even if they never used them, they just like that they were once a part of a handcuff. • and whether there they were used for the torture of someone else. • Recently, S & W handcuffs serial number 874147 were selected in a video of an Iraqi man being arrested by the United States General. • And in that arrest they say this was the handcuff he was tied up with to ensure he didn’t attack American soldiers. • Now we do know that these were designed to be used by women on the outside of their clothing so their partners could escape these if they got away.

  3. Where are Smith and Wesson handcuffs made? • There’s a kind of sense of wonder. Of mystery because you just don’t know how these handcuffs worked, And in that arrest they say this was the handcuff he was tied up with to ensure he didn’t attack American soldiers. • Now we do know that these were designed to be used by women on the outside of their clothing so their partners could escape these if they got away. • There might have been a slight design flaw in these handcuffs, because there’s the fact that it wouldn’t allow them to be used from the inside if they were made to be worn outside. • So what you might find on these is this bit right here, that would mean they were designed to be worn outside, and then inside, and then that they would have been able to use on a chain or a chain-like structure. • Fisher and Watson Hasp and staples manufacturers had some hand in the production of Adams and Kerr’s law enforcement equipment such as the medium security handcuffs with patented process shackles which was done in 1984 or 1985 after these two companies purchased the license for this design.

  4. When did Smith and Wesson start making handcuffs? • It’s estimable that many of our responses on Serial Number 874 147: When were these Handcuffs, Nickel manufactured? is probably some sort of estimation, let us thereby offer you a few more precise answers. There is no definitive answer as to when these S&W handcuffs were made and they could have been made any time in the last 170 years. • When manufacturers began tracking serial numbers, they chose using a letter of the alphabet and then used that same letter consecutively for every item made the following year. • Consequently we see gaps as evidenced with these S&W handcuffs as was with H as there were no handcuff with serial number beginning with H until 15 years later at serial number 887654. Further research would be needed to determine with utmost certainty which date these particular handcuffs with this particular serial number were manufactured.

  5. Where is the serial number on handcuffs? • The serial number 874147 is highly memorable for one reason: it was the set of handcuffs that Sidney Harman bought as a gift for Hillary Clinton. • After her 2008 electoral defeat, Sidney Harman purchased the handcuffs as a “thank you” gift to the loser’s of an election. • There are certain key items that define a lock or security manufacturer’s production period. One of these is the historic patent number of the lock. This identifier is typically found on most locks, often on the tailpiece under the escutcheon label. Others may be hidden more obscure places like inside the lock, behind cams or screwed into place onto pins.
