  2. Learning about new cultures • Why do we learn about different cultures or countries? • We learn about them to learn our similarities and differences between their culture and our culture. We can also see all of their cool traditions and even try them out to part ourselves in their shoes and see what their life is all about.

  3. Italy Fun Facts about Italy: • Italy’s Island is shaped like a boot kicking a ball • It is a good thing Italy loves sports! • Italy the Roman Colosseum, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and really fun boat rides! • People used to have fights with animals and much more at the Colosseum! Not only do they love sports, but they love to cook! • We have them to thank for Lasagna, Spaghetti, and even Pizza!

  4. ChinA • China is one of the largest countries in the world! They have some of the best food and most interesting traditions. • Perhaps their largest tradition is the Chinese New year, also known as the Lunar New Year. • On this new year they celebrate the 12 Zodiac Signs. This year, 2016, is the year of the monkey! • Not only do they have large celebrations, but cool places to go! • You can visit the Great Wall, a Panda Reserve, and much more! • They are also well known for their food! • A few pieces of food you might recognize are Spring rolls, Sweet and Sour Pork!

  5. mEXICO • Mexico is one of the most visited countries by Americans! • A few of their attractions are the Chitzen Itza, Acapulco beach, and Mexico City. • There are so many things for children your age to do there! Chitzen Itza is a building that was made by the Mayans; maybe you can go climb those steps one day! Mexico also has many different types of animals that live there! • Such as, Monkeys, jaguars, parrots, pumas, and much more! Just like the countries above, they have amazing food! • Such as chocolate, nachos, guacamole, etc. • We can thank them for a lot of our favorite types of food!

  6. fRANCE • France is a famous country in Europe, whose capital is Paris, the City of Love, as they call it. • You can recognize Paris as the city that hold the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dome, etc. • This is a beautiful city with so much history an fun to explore! • The food is also very interesting! • They have food such as Escargots (snails), Baguettes, Ratatouille, and much more!

  7. eGYPT • Egypt is a very complex and interesting country filled with so much history. • Egypt is mostly made up of deserts so it is very dry and has a lot of sand! • This country is known greatly for its massive Pyramids. • Pyramids were originally made as tombs for their Pharaohs (the Rulers of Egypt). • Inside they would keep the Pharaohs possessions and the Pharaohs mummified body. • The largest Pyramid found– out of 130 of them– is the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza. The Egyptians also had their own writing system called Hieroglyphics, this system was made up of symbols.
