  2. Discipleship:“Discipline yourself in godliness.” 1 Timothy 4:1-16

  3. Discipleship is a lifelong process 4:1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

  4. v9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. v11 Command and teach these things

  5. Discipleship: “Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” v.7 Train yourself in godliness; (RSV) “Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness.” (NASV)“train yourself to be godly” (NIV)

  6. “Discipline yourself to be godly” Discipleship Transformation - The Image Of Christ “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NASV)

  7. “Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” I John 3:2-3 (NASV)
