About The Viatel Group • Founded in 1991 – Operations in UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland. • Investments in excess of $1bn were originally made to build our Pan-European Network and Data-Centres, supported by a fully redundant Network Operation Centre. • The Viatel group owns a duct and fibre infrastructure across Europe with SDH, DWDM and Ethernet overlay. • Private company with blue Chip Investors led by Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc., NY. • Over $150 million of additional funds have been invested to support the network expansion strategy. • New Investment in further network expansion in 2010/11 to extend DWDM down to Marseille and Milan.

About VTLWaveNet • VTLWaveNet was started February 2007 to focus specifically on the European wholesale market. • Completely re-engineered and modernized European network in 2006 / 2007, with continuous network expansions since then. • VTLWaveNet provides telecommunications services and co-location on its European backbone network and its metro networks between data centres, carrier houses and Internet exchanges • Since the launch of our Wholesale services in 2007, revenues almost doubled each year • The customer list is dominated by tier 1 carriers and ISPs.

  6. VTLWaveNet Network • 6,200 Km of ducts and 7,100 Km of fibre route • 7 countries, 30 cities, 100+ POPs • Two submarine cables between UK and continental Europe. These routes avoid the Channel Tunnel and London Docklands and therefore provide redundancy to most other providers. • 35% of routes diverse from other network providers • Metro networks in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Zurich and Geneva • Low latencies – Zurich to Frankfurt 2.96ms, Zurich to Milan 1.95ms, Geneva to Frankfurt 3.82ms, Geneva to Paris 4.60ms
