Why change Assessment Systems?

  • The Common Core State Standards have been adopted as the South Carolina standards in ELA and mathematics

  • Current assessments are not aligned to these standards

  • The State Board of Education has adopted the assessments being developed by theSmarter Balanced Assessment Consortium

  • Computer Adaptive Tests
