  2. ROOTS • Grow down into the soil. • Hold plants tightly in the ground. • Take water and minerals from the soil. Root

  3. STEMS • They hold up the leaves, flowers , and fruit of a plant. • Carry the water and minerals from the roots to the rest of the plant. • Also carry sugars. Stem

  4. LEAVES • Are in charge of making sugar for the plant. • Take Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and release Oxygen. Leaf

  5. WHAT DOES A PLANT NEED FOR LIVING? • Light: they use it to produce sugar. • Water • Minerals: nonliving material found in the soil.
