  1. TITRATION To determine the concentration of a solution of sodium hydroxide by reacting it with hydrochloric acid of known concentration Hydrochloric acid 0.1 mol/dm3 Sodium hydroxide solution – concentration ?

  2. Measure out 25 cm3 of hydrochloric acid using a PIPETTE PIPETTE Transfer to a conical flask

  3. Take initial reading on burette. Fill burette with sodium hydroxide solution BURETTE

  4. Add a few drops of indicator e.g. phenolphthalein

  5. Add sodium hydroxide until indicator changes colour Take final reading on burette Permanent pale pink colour
