  2. Introduction The people of Oldham would like to take you on a journey around Oldham. We hope you enjoy your experience and remember it for a lifetime.

  3. History History in Oldham is amazing. Did you know that Oldham used to be the richest town in the world? Or that Winston Churchill used to be MP of Oldham before he became Prime Minister? Christopher Biggins, who is an actor, director and writer, was born here as well as Mark Owen a singer with the pop group Take That. Also a famous landmark was knocked down recently. It was called Mumps Bridge. In 1946 the trams stopped, now in 2011 the trains have stopped so that trams can come back to Oldham.

  4. Location In England there are some brilliant locations. Oldham is one of them. Oldham is in Greater Manchester. It is also the east of the city of Manchester, the south of Rochdale, the west of Huddersfield and at the edge of the Pennine Moors. It is also located in the North West of England

  5. Places of Interest One of the nicest places to go is Tandle Hill. It is a country park and it has a play park. In Oldham there is a football ground. It is called Boundary Park. The team that play there are called Oldham Athletic Football Club. Oldham also has a theatre; it is called the Coliseum. Lots of plays and recitals are shown especially at Christmas where they perform pantomimes.

  6. Sports In Oldham there is professional football team called Oldham Athletic. They were in the Premier League and played teams like Manchester United and Liverpool. Now they play in the 3rd tier of the English league they play teams now like Plymouth and Rochdale. Netball is a game where people pass the ball about then throw it in a net. It is usually played by girls but boys can play as well. It is played throughout Oldham as well as Rochdale. We also do lots of other sports.
