Organization • CIBER Committee • Body of CASPUR since February 2008 • 1 or 2 rapresentatives for each university • Define objectives & strategies • CIBER Secretariat • consists of CASPUR rapresentatives (2) and 5 University rapresentatives • Propose negotiations, organize seminars and workshops • CASPUR • FTE for CIBER activities (negotiations, administrative activities, digital platform & technological support) P. Electronic ResourceSharing (1) 18 contracts with publishers in place 2 national deals (Elsevier Science and Springer Business&Media) + Porticco deal through CARE- Committee set up by the CRUI- Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities 2005-2009 Most of the contracts are e-only based Models based on print+ e are still in place for some universities P. Gargiulo 18th May 2009

Electronic Resource Sharing (2) No e-books consortia deals Few A&I databases Citational databases: WOS most of the institutions, few subscribe to SCOPUS No new contracts in 2009, just renewals except for a Emerald Library and Information Science Collection Wiley-Blackwell contract was renewed in 2009 (one contract) Global economic cris and 2010 P. Sharing EV and other tools EV- digital platform run by CASPUR – aggregates over 5600 journal titles about 5 million full text articles Elsevier journals 1995 - (+ backfiles not yet completely loaded) Springer journals 1997- IOP journals 1992- Web 2.0 compliant (RSS, Social bookmarking etc) and Shibboleth compliant by the end of 2009 SFX – consortial installation (8 subscribers) Collecting and sharing statistics portal (Elsevier, Springer, IOP) P. Activities carried out by consortia at national level in 2008-2009 Implementation of IDEM in 2009 Italian AAI- Authentication/Authorization Initiative based on Shibboleth2 national E- resources surveys: Electronic resources adoption in 2008 Move to e-only Concerns Preservation issues E-books adoption in March 2009 adopters and non-adopters current issues: license models, MARC records, users training, etc P.
